X2

If you’re considering the X2 as your first entry into the wonderful world of high-end loudspeakers: welcome. At just shy of 80cm tall, the X2 is the ‘baby’ of the Kudos range. But rest assured there’s nothing small about the performance of this dynamic and confident loudspeaker. We’ve put everything of the Kudos sound that we can into the X2 while making sure that it won’t take up too much space in either your listening room or your budget. True, it’s not the cheapest compact high-end loudspeaker on the market. But it is hand-built in the UK using some of Europe’s finest components and technology, many of which are specifically customised exclusively for Kudos. Think of it as your first investment in the rest of your musical life.

EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOM-MADE CROSSOVERS

Kudos’ unique drivers are custom designed in collaboration with leading Norwegian experts, SEAS. In the X2, they’re specifically crafted for this loudspeaker’s more compact size. The drivers are carefully matched and precisely aligned to work seamlessly as one, making the X2 an impressively musical compact loudspeaker.

INTERIOR DESIGN

The X series’ compact, modern design blends effortlessly into the contemporary home. Beneath the sleek exterior is a smart marriage of form and function: everything in the X2’s bodywork is specifically selected for its acoustic properties and carefully fine-tuned to control unwanted vibrations without disturbing the natural dynamics of your music.

LOW-ORDER CROSSOVER AND MINIMAL DESIGN FOR A PURER SOUND

The purer the signal, the truer the sound. A Kudos loudspeaker preserves a clean and clear audio signal by favouring a minimal design with our trademark, low-order crossover. The X series’ superb quality components, including Mundorf inductors and resistors, and ClarityCap capacitors, are tailored specifically for Kudos to stringent tolerances.

FIXED BOUNDARY BASS REFLEX LOADING

Since bass plays such a powerful role in how we hear music, our X series pays particular attention to delivering superior sound at the all-important lower end. The X2’s fixed boundary bass reflex loading is key to a more agile, nuanced, textured and detailed bass reproduction.

Isobaric arrangement in which the second mid/bass driver is carefully positioned internally back-to-back with the first for superior bass reproduction and reduced distortion

    Kudos X2

I have now owned the X2’s for 4 weeks and they have transformed my system. They are sublime driven by Supernait 2 and Linn LP12. They sound so much bigger than they look. Resolution, detail without any harshness even on difficult recordings.
You are aware of the quality of the drivers used and their implementation in the design. The finish is first rate, especially in the Walnut. I have had many speakers over the years and these are definitely my favourites…superb

    Stunning X2s

I allowed the speakers to run in for a while and right now all is sounding quite amazing in my bedroom system. There’s a startling level of clarity and immediacy that I’ve not heard in any speaker since Kans. I’m really impressed, so much so that compared to a previous pair of active floorstanders i’ve owned at much greater cost, the price difference speaks very highly of the X2’s

A total joy and extremely musically involving.

    Small and beautiful

I’ve had these speakers for around 5 years now and they still amaze. Beautiful well balanced sound with amazing clarity. If you need really hefty bass you might want something bigger but I’ve never found them wanting. The compact dimensions means positioning is easier and they don’t take over your room. Without doubt the best speakers I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.

    Kudos X3 loudspeakers

I bought the X3s to use with a Naim Uniti Star. They are fantastic sounding loudspeakers, very easy to position with good but not overpowering bass and extremely detailed treble. The natural oak finish is really high quality so not only do they sound superb they look great too.
    I would happily recommend them.

    Great floor standing speakers

The X2’s produce a very impressive sound for their size, my lounge is approx. 19×13 so they don’t dominate the room. They sit at the end of a Sondek LP12 and Naim Atom set up. They’re a joy to listen to my only reservation is that the treble can occasionally seem a little harsh but I’ve not heard anything else at the price to beat them.

    Speakers for a Compact Space

The X2 speakers are wonderful for a compact listening room. These are in a small room and are sited approximately 2 metres from the listening position, 2 metres apart and just 15 cms from the wall. Their size means they don’t overwhelm the room in physical presence or importantly in sound stage, a concern was booming base and harsh treble when needing to sit relatively close in, however the X2’s deliver a tight base and relatively clean treble (if ever a mark 2 is created perhaps this is the one area to look at, but this is picking flies) and they just sound nicely musical with a Rega system. Then there is the design and finish – the shaped plinth and clean lines looks classy and the veneers are beautifully finished and matched (in fact mirrored) across the pair of speakers. And although the covers are rarely in place, the magnetic fixings work well and are nicely designed so there are no holes needed in the front facia to hold them in place.

Therefore, the X2’s are highly are recommended and should be on the short list for a small listening space. Very pleased with Kudos and the next step will be a pair of S20a’s when budget allows!
