New Kudos Titan 808 with Linn Exakt causes a stir at Bristol & Acoustica shows

No more teasers… the cat is well and truly out of the bag as Kudos unveiled two new exciting developments at two recent hi-fi shows. If you missed The Bristol Show in February or Acoustica’s Chester Show in March, chances are you’ll still have caught the news thanks to the ensuing buzz in the hi-fi press!

Kudos’ flagship loudspeaker, the mighty Titan 88, now has a successor: the new Titan 808, a prototype of which was revealed at these latest shows. Only the two isobaric bass drivers remain identical to those in the original T88. The mid-bass driver, tweeter and crossover have all been advanced and refined, while the all-new and even more complex cabinet features a stunningly avant-garde design.

But that’s not all… Kudos has been working with industry leaders Linn to bring the incredible performance of Linn Exakt into the Kudos range of loudspeakers. Launched by Linn in 2013, Exakt is a ground-breaking new technology that has revolutionized the world of hi-fi. It delivers the most direct connection ever made between the listener and the artist, and turns the loudspeaker into an intelligent, connected, software upgradeable product.

The team at Kudos is delighted to be working closely with Linn to develop Exakt support for its three top-of-range speakers: the Super 10, Super 20 and the new flagship Titan 808.

“Kudos to Kudos”

As Hi-Fi Plus summarised in its report of The Bristol Show, the Kudos prototypes “drew a lot of attention from industry and consumers alike”. Press coverage has spanned both online and print media and crossed international borders, reaching as far as Australian Hi-Fi magazine.

theaudiobeat.com singled out the Titan 808 as one of just 12 ‘hot products’ featured at The Bristol Show and said “kudos to Kudos”, while What Hi-Fi?, the world’s most trusted technology buyer’s guide, included the Titan 808 in its ‘Best New Stereo Speakers 2015’ video feature.

“Congratulations to Kudos for the Titan 808,” said the Audiophile Musings blog following The Acoustica Show. “We head back to the Kudos Titan room. We stay for a long time. The emotion in the music being completely engrossing – dynamics, subtleties, detail, structure, rhythm, timing, layers upon layers and fantastic storytelling.”

Here at Kudos, we’re delighted with the reactions to our hard work, but that work’s far from over. Noses are firmly back on grindstones to further refine our prototypes and work towards a forthcoming product launch. Which is coming soon. Watch this space!
