Linn launches ‘SPACE Optimisation’ – with Kudos on-board

When you’re investing in a world-class music system, why let your room have such a big say in what you hear? On 16th March, Linn launched ‘SPACE Optimisation’ technology designed to remove the unwanted distorting effects of your listening room.

‘SPACE’ stands for ‘Speaker Placement And Custom Environment’. The software builds an acoustic model of the listening room based on the choice and placement of speakers, as well as the properties of the room itself.

The point is to take the room out of the equation, regardless of how much glass, concrete or partition walling you may have. The software is even capable of emulating your speakers’ ideal position so you can place them wherever you want.

All Linn network music players will get SPACE Optimisation. New products will come with the software pre-loaded, while existing units will get it via a software upgrade.

The team at Kudos is delighted to be working with colleagues at Linn on these exciting new technologies. The full range of Kudos loudspeakers is now SPACE Optimisation compatible.

SPACE Optimisation+

If you have a Linn Exakt system, you’ll benefit from SPACE Optimisation+. This takes things further by modelling the acoustic response of each individual drive unit. It enables even more advanced speaker modelling that’s specific not just to the model of speaker, but to the unique pair of speakers in your home.

Again, Kudos have been working closely with Linn (if you missed our recent announcements, take a look at the Bristol Show press launch). Our three flagship loudspeakers, the Super 10, Super 20 and forthcoming Titan 808 are SPACE Optimisation+ compatible.
