TITAN 505

Whilst the Titan 505 looks a little different to the rest of the series, it delivers just as much breathtaking design and musicality as its bigger floorstanding counterparts. The Titan 505 is the smaller sister-speaker to the Titan 606 - offering the same musical performance and sonic clarity as its floorstanding sibling - in a more compact, stand-mounted cabinet. The Titan 505 is the ideal place for serious bookshelf loudspeaker enthusiasts to begin listening with Kudos, whilst introducing Titan-quality design and engineering into their system setup.

EXCEPTIONAL, CUSTOM-MADE DRIVERS

The Titan series features drive units crafted exclusively for Kudos by world-leading specialists SEAS. All four Titans share the same superb K3 tweeter, a version of a legendary SEAS unit specially re-engineered to tailor its capabilities for the Titans. The 505’s use a custom 180mm mid-bass unit with a die-cast chassis with large open areas, a coated paper cone and a 39mm voice coil designed for low-distortion, high linearity and low crossover modulation.

All drivers are precisely matched and aligned to work together seamlessly, delivering an effortless ‘just right’ sound. When you hear it, you’ll know it.

LOW-ORDER CROSSOVERS AND MINIMAL DESIGN FOR PURER SOUND

The purer the signal, the truer the sound. A Kudos loudspeaker preserves a clean and clear audio signal by favouring a minimal design with our trademark, low-order crossover. The Titan series’ superior quality components are tailored specifically for Kudos to stringent tolerances. They include Mundorf’s MResist Supreme resistors and air-core inductors, and ClarityCap’s unique CopperConnect technology capacitors.

INTERIOR DESIGN

The best designs are a marriage of form and function. The Titans’ modernist design blends effortlessly into the contemporary home. Concealed within, however, is highly a complex system of differential panel resonance control. While keeping a rigorously tight grip on any and all unwanted vibrations, this smart system gives full and free rein to the natural dynamics of your music.

ISOBARIC WITH FIXED BOUNDARY LOADING

Bass is key to how we hear music, so our Titan series goes above and beyond in ensuring superior sound at the all-important lower end. The Titan 505’s isobaric and bass reflex loading is cleverly engineered to deliver a more agile, nuanced, textured and detailed bass reproduction.

ACTIVE CONFIGURATION (UPGRADEABLE)

The Titan series is configured to allow simple by-passing of the internal crossover for active operation with leading electronics including Linn Exakt, Devialet Expert and Naim SNAXO. Active operation opens up a wider upgrade path and enables a variety of performance and personalisation enhancing capabilities.

Titan 505’s best speakers I have ever bought

Having recently replaced all my sources and amplification with new classic Naim separates, I had listened to demo units through Titan 808’s. I loved them but my budget and available space did not permit this indulgence! Instead I undertook research, spoke to dealers and heard 606’s, 707’s and 808’s at North West Audio Show. Subsequently I borrowed a pair of 505’s from my dealer, Acoustica, and was smitten. I was struck by their musicality, grip and responsiveness as well as the aesthetic and excellent build quality. It was then a no-brainer to order a pair of my own and I have been thrilled by them and the way they perform consistently across an eclectic music taste than spans classical, blues, country, bluegrass, acoustic and folk. I was also so taken by the recently unveiled Sigao that I have further invested in another power supply and additional power amp pending the arrival of my own Sigao and the prospect of going active with the 505’s in the very near future. Also a champion of quality British hi-fi I am approaching the peak of my system ambitions and looking forward to many hours of audio enjoyment.

Titan 505's from Super 10A no looking back

So i started with a chance purchase of some Kudos super 10 speakers in 2021.
I had never really heard any Kudos speakers, what a revelation they proved to be far superior sound to
any speakers i had previously owned or heard in a home environment.
Thought initially i had found my end game speakers and very nearly were i was very happy with them and could easily live with them now,
i can’t say that about any of my previous speakers.
So i saw some Kudos Titan 505’s at a very good price from a dealer used but only a year old, What on earth did some one upgrade to to improve on these ?
    one can only wonder.
Anyway this were bigger than i had anticipated but are still Ok i did prefer the look of my Super10A more due to the size i like small speakers, no i’m not a woman nore do i identify as one LOL but women on the whole are not lovers of big boxes in the room or speakers, well not the ones I’ve know maybe i just have bad tase but that aside.
I plugged these in and set them up wasn’t blown away immediately but after some careful positioning and after leaving them playing for 15mins my amp works best after 10-15mins warm up time , i finally sat down and put on some tunes i know well and WOW everything was much more natural sounding especially the drums and the reverb sound of strings and piano there was for sure more space between things and the timing seemed more together.
I had last year got rid of vinyl and gone digital a move i have never regrated but there was always something just not quite as perfect but very nearly as good, well with these
the old slightly warmer almost very clear valve sound came through i run solid state don’t particularly like valves as they muddy the water but this doesn’t so maybe a wrong way to describe it but things sounded more analogue and a friend when he listened thought i’d changed my amp for a hybrid and he is a valve guy.
All i can say is these speakers continue to impress me and i’m noticing things I’ve not heard before in tracks i know well just subtle background instruments like triangle for example seem to be present and in place.
So i can say yes kudos are great i’d happily go back to Super 10A if my system ever ends up in the main room with the wife but for now i have everything I’ve ever looked for in the HIFI world for now my journey is complete

Titan 505's from Super 10A no looking back

I previously purchased a pair of Kudos Super 10A during covid so purchased blind on a whim.
One of the best decisions i ever made they surpassed any speakers i’d previously owned by some distance.
i started of using Chord Epic cables with them and then moved up to Chord signature each gained in performance.
I did try some other cables as an experiment and results were not great these speakers are fantastic but do need some decent cables
to let them shine and show how much Bass they have. Everything was well controlled and a great sound thought i had found my end game speakers
until i saw some Kudos Titan 505’s at a price i could not ignore, so what do i think.
Well first of these speakers are much larger and i do prefer the look of my older S10A but the sound well there it gets interesting,
i have gone all digital on my system and now only stream music from an internal hard drive to a DAC then into my amp.
I first plugged in the Titans and my first impressions were a bit confusing but after id positioned them correctly and let them run 10 mins or so like i always do
my amp sound far better after been warmed up for 10 mins its a Luxman solid state, have to say the reverb on instruments was far more natural sounding
The Bass was nice and tight but sounded more like actual drums and to my ears it although everything is pin sharp detail it sound like someone added a high end valve
output in my amp i finally got back the last but of what i had missed when i sold all my records and went digital, a move i have never regretted but did come up just a bit shy
of what i had been used to, but now I’ve got these it is like i say either valves maybe that’s a wrong way of putting it but i have a more full filling analogue type sound.
I contacted Kudos direct as was worried about warranty they assured me i still had 5 yrs left on them and re registered them into my name.
I could not be any happier with them and would recommend these or the super 10A to anyone looking at speakers.

    A very worthy investment

Purchased my Titan 505s after reading a number of reviews and recommendations from fellow audio enthusiasts, and I must say they have been one of my best hi-fi investments. They have a beautiful, revealing and up front sound, which is absolutely stunning for vocals, acoustic guitar & piano music. The isobaric bass reflex is exceptional, its a punchy well controlled deep & taught sound that is much larger than you might imagine for their bookshelf size. The build quality of both the speakers and stands is very robust, and although subjective I find them aesthetically beautiful with their sharp geometric lines and unique angles giving them a different shape when viewed from various perspectives. For me these will be speakers for life.

    Exceptional!

The Titan 505 speakers are the best I have heard. They are the voice of my system and never fail to bring emotion and detail to various music I play through them. Any changes I make in the rest of my system are immediately evident.
The build quality is outstanding. They blend into my home aesthetically and I have had nothing but positive comments.
I can’t say enough great things about the Titan 505’s. They will be in my system for a long time.
The Hifi Attic were very helpful in demonstrating these amazing speakers in their showroom and in my home. Thank you Hifi Attic and thank you Kudos! Very proud to own such quality products.

    505 Titan

    Love the speakers!

Great soundstage and crystal clear details. I have a small room but these speakers are easy to place. I can push it all the way back towards the wall and the sound is still so brilliant. There is no distortion in sound. Kudos has got it spot on with the isobarics.

    Titan 505: stunning speakers

I’m still running the speakers in, but already it is clear that they are superb. The musicality, clarity and detail are all brilliant. Build quality is second to none, and the speakers look fantastic in a domestic setting. Without doubt, these are the best speakers I have owned.

    Titan 505’s - terrific speakers.

Arrived yesterday and sound good ‘straight out of the box’, so really looking forward to listening when fully run in. These speakers are definitely keepers.

Build, fit and finish reflect the premium nature of the Titan Series, including the substantial stands which do not require any additional ballast.

Big shout out to The Audiobarn for their support throughout the selection process, their excellent demo facilities and frank, clear and unbiased advice making the final choice clear for such a subjective purchase.

    Kudos 505 Beyond Expectations

I was looking for speakers that not only had the sound signature I was looking for and complimented my electronics but also integrated perfectly in my living environment requiring fairly close placement to the rear wall. With a soundstage that fills an entire wall, imaging that makes the speakers disappear, details so realistic it makes you do a double take and a balanced presentation at low and high levels, these Titan 505 speakers have surpassed all my expectations. Add to that their beautiful finishing and very solid construction, I can’t imagine I will ever replace them. As a reference my electronics are Naim pre, power and streamer, Denafrips DDC and DAC and proximity to the rear wall that works best for me is 30 cm.

    505 review

Still running these speakers as only had for 3 months. Upgraded from super 10a’s. most noticeable is bass response, superb from a relatively small enclosure.
Treble is very accurate and very well balanced with the bass. I have had numerous speakers over the years but can’t imagine a better performer for the price and size.
A big thank you to the Audiobarn for great service as well.

    Titan 505 perfection

Owned these a few months having first heard them at Bristol 2019 playing a Spanish tinged version of Wish You Were Here, amongst some other very cool stuff on the Kudos playlist. They are stunning in every way: resolution, imaging, bass and build quality. I am hearing stuff on tracks I have played thousands of times that I have never heard before. They look stunning too. The best pair of speakers I have ever heard . And I have heard a lot! Service from The Department of Music, Petworth was also exceptional. I am a very, very happy customer.
